The power of connection is key to building a brighter future
Through our social investment program, Keyera Connects, we partner with organizations and support causes that strengthen the environment, advance Indigenous reconciliation and build resiliency in the communities in which we are a part.
Connecting energy for life means you can count on us to deliver more than just energy. We’re committed to being a force for good and making positive, lasting change in the areas we operate and the communities our people call home.
Our focus areas
We are committed to making meaningful and long-term impact across three key areas:
-
We're committed to preserving the natural landscapes we call home. Through our Environmental Innovation pillar, we invest in conserving our ecosystems for future generations, as well as innovative solutions to advance the energy transition and our industry to cleaner, lower-emitting sources of energy.
-
Reconciliation begins with understanding the truths of history. Through our Indigenous Reconciliation pillar, our approach is to listen with humility as we collaborate with Indigenous Peoples, communities, and organizations to determine areas of focus and impact that build capacity and strength for a better future for all.
-
Resilient communities respond and adapt effectively to changes, challenges, adversity, and opportunities. Through our Community Resiliency pillar, we support infrastructure and programs that build resiliency in the communities where we live and work today and sustainably into the future.
Strong partnerships fuel lasting change
By building relationships with those who care about the same things we do, we can understand the needs of communities and connect strengths and expertise to make a difference not just today, but long into the future.

Partnership impact
In 2022, Keyera is proud to have partnered with over 80 organizations making an impact across our three pillars. Some examples of key partnerships and causes we supported include:
-
Environmental Innovation
We partner with the Alberta Ecotrust Foundation, supporting people and projects that address Alberta’s most pressing environmental challenges and opportunities. -
Indigenous Reconciliation
We’re proud to partner with Indspire, an Indigenous national charity that invests in the education of First Nations, Inuit and Métis people. Keyera supports the “Building Better Futures Scholarship Program”, where we provide bursaries to Indigenous youth attending post-secondary institutions. -
Community Resiliency
Through our “Warm toes, Warm Hearts” initiative, Keyera helped provide winter boots to kids in need across the regions where we operate.
Our people in the community
We support causes our employees care about through our employee community care days and United Way employee matching program:
- Employee Community Care Days: Keyera offers two paid days each year for employees to support organizations or causes they are most passionate about. That could be volunteering in their kid’s classroom, supporting a food bank, cleaning up a local park, and much more. In 2021, Keyera employees donated nearly 5,000 hours serving their local communities.
- United Way employee matching: Each year, our employees come together in support of the United Way and the many opportunities it supports. To help double the impact, we match employee donations. In total, Keyera and our employees have invested over $7 million to help build community resiliency and improve local lives.
