Once again Keyera’s Calgary based employees have shown their enthusiasm and support for others.
During the month of November, 19 employees decided to change the face of men’s health and participate in the Movember challenge. Movember is a global movement that raises awareness around men’s health issues, namely prostate cancer.
Our team of employees raised money for the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Canada by growing a Moustache throughout Movember, the month formerly known as November. During the month long fundraising campaign, employees participated in a variety of fun events, such as gift basket draws, pledge drives and 50-50 draws.
Total proceeds raised were over $14,000. The amount raised, placed Keyera in the top 30 fundraising company's nation-wide. Way to go Team Keyera!
The Movember started in Melbourne, Australia in 2003 as a challenge to bring back the moustache. In 2004, the campaign evolved to become a fundraising event for prostate cancer, raising $55,000 for the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia. Since then, Movember has expanded globally, raising $52 million for its beneficiary partners in Australia, New Zealand, UK, US, Canada, Spain and Ireland. As a direct result of these campaigns, male awareness of health issues has improved with the campaign spreading health messages directly to millions around the world.
