Mr. Lougheed served as Premier of Alberta for 14 years from 1971 to 1985.  He was a partner at the Calgary-based law firm of Bennett Jones LLP from 1986 to 1999 and is currently Counsel to that firm.  He is a director of Quorum Secured Equity Trust and MEG Energy Corp.

Mr. Lougheed graduated from the Harvard Business School after receiving his degrees in Arts and Law from the University of Alberta in Edmonton.  In 1986 he was a recipient of the Harvard Business School's Alumni Achievement Award.  Mr. Lougheed is a member of the Privy Council of Canada and a Companion of the Order of Canada.  He is Chancellor Emeritus of Queen's University and holds Honorary Doctor of Laws Degrees from eight Canadian universities.
